Prof Darryl Russel
Professor Darryl Russell is a cell biologist and molecular endocrinologist who heads the Ovarian Cell Biology Group in the Robinson Research Institute. His training in endocrinology and ovarian biology began, with Professor Jock Findlay as his PhD advisor at Prince Henry’s Institute of Medical Research and subsequently with Professor JoAnne Richards in a PostDoc at Baylor College of Medicine. He then relocated To the University of Adelaide where he now leads an independent research team. Broadly, his interests focus on the molecular control of ovarian and oocyte development, including TGFb superfamily members, inhibin, activin and GDF9/BMP15 as well as steroid hormone actions.
